The mountainous areas of Kukës County have been hit by the first snowfall after a sharp drop in temperatures, while the rain of recent days has been replaced by winter weather at higher elevations.

Snow in several villages above 1,000 meters
Snowfall has appeared in areas above 1,000 meters above sea level, affecting several villages in Kukës.
Among the areas mentioned are Novosej, Shishtavec, Borje, Turaj, Brekijë and Zapod, where the change in weather has been clearly felt with the drop in temperatures.
Snow depth reaches up to 5 centimeters
According to reported data, the snow depth has reached up to 5 centimeters in some of these mountainous areas.
These are the first snowfalls for this stage of the season at these elevations, following periods of rain that had dominated earlier.
No problems reported so far
So far, no problems related to traffic or other situations have been reported in the affected villages.
However, the sudden change in weather in the mountainous areas of Kukës has once again drawn attention to weather conditions on high-altitude roads and in settlements, especially as temperatures continue to fall.
The drop in temperatures is thus marking the transition from rainfall to snow in the highest parts of Kukës County.
At the moment, the situation appears to be without any problems reported on the ground.
