Prime Minister Edi Rama has chosen social media to promote the new premises of the House of Chess, accompanying the announcement with a promise of dedicated funding that, according to him, will help extend chess to as many schools in the country as possible.

The announcement came via Facebook
In a public post, Rama shared images from the new House of Chess facilities and presented the initiative as a development for Albania’s chess community.
His message focused on two elements: promoting the new premises and financial support for a broader introduction of chess into the education system.
The promise of a dedicated budget
According to the prime minister, there will be a dedicated budget to expand the game to as many schools in the country as possible.
In his post, Rama described this as an important step for the chess community and for the presence of sport in education, linking the initiative to the development of students’ mental skills.
What is known so far
For now, the announcement remains at the level of public communication on social media, and no further details have been made public on the value of the fund, the method of distribution, or the timeline for implementation in schools.
There is also no additional clarification on how educational institutions will be involved or how broad the practical implementation of this initiative will be.
The focus on expanding chess
According to the official version presented by the prime minister, the new House of Chess premises are intended to create more opportunities for the development and promotion of the sport.
Along the same lines, financial support for schools is presented as a mechanism to bring more young people closer to chess activities and to give chess a broader presence in educational institutions.
So far, attention has focused on the promotional message and the promise of funding, while it remains to be seen whether the initiative will be accompanied by concrete decisions, transparency on the funds, and a clear implementation plan in schools.
