Traffic at Morinë remains heavy during the final weekend of August, with thousands of citizens and vehicles crossing the border into Albania. The figures show a high load at one of the most important transit points between Kosovo and Albania, while institutions claim they are managing the flow to avoid queues.
More than 52,000 entries in just 24 hours
Over the last 24 hours, 52,864 citizens and 13,531 vehicles entered Albania through the Morinë Border Crossing Point.
In the same period, 35,072 citizens and 11,238 vehicles left Albania, showing that entries remained significantly higher than exits.
The final weekend of summer is keeping the border crossing busy
According to travelers, favorable temperatures are encouraging many holidaymakers to spend the final days of summer on the Albanian coast.
For some of them, this is not their first visit of the season, an indication that movement between Kosovo and Albania has remained active through the end of August.
The five-day balance highlights the real volume of traffic
Data from the last five days makes the scale of traffic at Morinë even clearer. From August 24 to 28, 152,694 citizens and 46,870 vehicles entered Albania.
On departures, during the same period, 121,846 citizens and 37,148 vehicles were recorded. The figures show a high volume of movement on both sides of the border, with entries once again ahead.
Managing the flow remains under strain
Morinë remains one of the main transit hubs between Kosovo and Albania, especially during peak tourism periods.
According to the official version, authorities are managing the flow to avoid waiting times and ensure faster movement, but the pressure of recent days once again shows how fragile the normal functioning of this point remains when crossing volumes increase.
As the summer season draws to a close, Morinë continues to bear the main weight of entries and exits between the two countries.
The figures from recent days confirm that this border crossing remains the clearest barometer of seasonal travel toward Albania.
