A dispute over payment for the work of an 18-year-old in Golem is suspected of having escalated into a serious episode of violence, with several people arrested and another declared wanted. The police version also raises questions about attempts to erase traces at the scene, including the removal of the camera DVR and the cutting of cables.
What is alleged to have happened at the hotel
According to police, the incident took place two nights ago in the Mali i Robit area, after a conflict at a hotel where 18-year-old Genti Nela worked as a waiter.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the clash began over payment for the work performed. The young man is suspected of having been assaulted and was then taken to Kavaja Hospital, where he remains under doctors’ care.
Who is involved, according to police
Florian Habilaj, 28, and Enold Dragoti, 20, were arrested over the assault of the 18-year-old. Arbër Habilaj, 36, has been declared wanted, while another 36-year-old is being investigated while free.
According to the official version, the suspected individuals are connected to the family of the hotel owner. Florian Habilaj and Arbër Habilaj are identified as the owner’s sons, while another person involved is identified as his son-in-law. Enold Dragoti is reported to be their friend.
Police intervention and the weapon found
Police say that while actions were being carried out at the hotel, they received information that the 18-year-old’s uncle, Melison Nela, 47, was heading toward the hotel armed, with the aim of taking revenge.
According to the official statement, his vehicle was stopped near the hotel and during a search of a backpack officers found a Kalashnikov rifle, three magazines and 84 rounds of ammunition. The 47-year-old was caught in the act and arrested over the weapon and ammunition.
Suspicions of tampering with the scene
One element that further aggravates the incident is the police claim that the scene had been cleaned after the conflict.
Also according to the investigation, the DVR of the security cameras had been removed and the cables had been cut, a detail that could directly affect the full clarification of what really happened at the hotel.
The procedural materials have been referred to the Prosecutor’s Office, while investigations remain open to clarify the role of each of the people involved.
The case once again highlights not only violence against young workers in the service sector, but also suspicions of interference with evidence in incidents that require full institutional verification.
