The chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has announced that he is expected to travel to the United States to take part in a Republican Party conference in Texas. The announcement came during an online conversation, where he said he has two invitations, but clarified that he is still awaiting the documents and does not yet have a defined schedule of meetings.
What Berisha announced about the visit to the US
According to Berisha’s own statement, the participation is linked to a conference that American Republicans will hold in Texas as part of the midterm elections.
He said he would take part as part of a delegation of the International Democrat Union, where, according to his version, leaders of around 30 member parties are included.
Claim of two invitations
Berisha said that, in addition to the invitation as part of the delegation, he has also received a second invitation from an American institute that, according to him, is connected to the conference.
At this stage, he gave no further details about the institute in question, while stressing that he is awaiting the documents in order to travel.
Agenda still unclear
Asked about the meetings he may hold during his stay in the US, Berisha acknowledged that he does not yet have a fixed plan.
He said he hopes contacts and meetings will be determined in the coming days, leaving open the concrete political scope of this visit.
So far, the announcement remains at the declarative level and is based on the information made public by the Democratic Party leader himself.
It remains to be seen whether the visit will be formalized with the documentation he says he is awaiting and what real weight his participation in this event in the US will carry.
