The latest official tally speaks of 20 fire outbreaks across the country, with 4 of them still remaining active. The most difficult situation is reported in several areas of Mat, in Bulqizë and on the Dajt–Qafë Priskë axis, while institutions say that 183 operational forces, 21 fire engines, 80 military personnel and 2 Air Force helicopters have been deployed on the ground.
Where the main problems remain
According to official data, one of the most problematic fire outbreaks continues to be the one in Dajt–Qafë Priskë. Authorities claim that the fire does not pose a risk to inhabited areas, although the situation remains open and under pressure on the ground.
In Vajkal, Bulqizë, the flames have spread across more than 13 hectares, while the operation continues with a considerable commitment of forces. Another outbreak with major damage is reported in Lundre, Mat, where around 90 to 100 hectares of forest have burned.
Mat in focus, with support from the air as well
In Lundre, according to the official report, the intervention has also been supported by an Air Force helicopter. Likewise, a fire outbreak remains active in Mallunxë, Mat, where forces are working to isolate and extinguish the flames in a forested area.
In addition to these points, another Air Force helicopter has been activated in Iballë, Fushë-Arrëz, due to the very rugged and inaccessible terrain. There, the situation is reported to be under supervision, which indicates the real difficulty of operations beyond the numerical tallies published by institutions.
Outbreaks under supervision and areas where the fire has been extinguished
The outbreaks in Qafa e Lugut–Vithkuq and on Mount Qukës remain under supervision. In Iballë as well, according to the authorities, the situation is being kept under control through monitoring from the air and from the ground.
Meanwhile, the fires in Podgorc, Psar and Therepel–Skrapar are reported to have been completely extinguished. In Therepel, the flames had endangered the TAP gas pipeline, a detail that highlights how close these episodes can get to critical infrastructure without receiving proper public attention.
