The protest against the government entered its 99th day in Tirana, with another march from Skanderbeg Square to the Prime Minister’s Office. Demonstrators repeated their objections to the government and the political class, while the protest also featured calls for a presence outside Parliament at the start of the new session.

The gathering began as usual in Skanderbeg Square, before continuing with a march toward the Prime Minister’s Office building.
In front of the government headquarters, speeches and statements were delivered against the governing institutions and the political class, in a continuation of protests that, according to organizers and participants, will continue in the months ahead.
Call for the 100th day of the protest
During the gathering, a female protester called for as many citizens as possible to join on the 100th day of the protest.
The protesters’ message was that mobilization should not remain limited to the daily marches, but should expand with greater participation on days they consider decisive.
Focus also on the new parliamentary session
Statements made during the protest also articulated the aim of moving near Parliament with the start of the new session.
One of the participants called for a gathering outside the Assembly on Tuesday, the day the new session is expected to begin, signaling that the protest aims to make its presence felt during plenary sittings as well.
Gatherings expected to continue every day
According to statements made at the protest, the gatherings will continue on a daily basis and along the same protest route in the capital.
After the speeches outside the Prime Minister’s Office, the protesters continued marching along several of Tirana’s main roads, ending this day of protest as well with a presence on the ground and direct political messages toward the government.
The 99th day of the protest showed that the organizers are trying to shift political pressure toward the Assembly as well, not only outside the government headquarters.
It remains to be seen whether the calls for broader mobilization will bring higher participation in the protest announced for the 100th day and at the start of the parliamentary session.
