A serious institutional development hit the top ranks of state security on Monday: SPAK has imposed the security measures of “house arrest” and “suspension from duty” on SHISH chief Vlora Hyseni. In parallel, the National Bureau of Investigation (BKH) also carried out searches at the home of former State Police Director General Ilir Proda, deepening questions over a case that directly affects the state’s most sensitive structures.
Measures against the SHISH chief and the search at Proda’s home
According to the information made public, SPAK has ordered “house arrest” and “suspension from duty” for the head of the State Intelligence Service, Vlora Hyseni.
In the same case, the National Bureau of Investigation also searched the home of former State Police Director General Ilir Proda. At this stage, no further details have been made public about the basis of the suspicions or the elements that led to these procedural actions.
Berisha turns the case into a frontal attack on the government
From Vlora, during his speech at the Renewal Forum, Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha used this development to level direct political accusations against the head of SHISH and the government.
Berisha called Vlora Hyseni a “soldier of organized crime” and claimed that such events are not isolated, but are linked to a chain of decision-making at the highest levels of power.
Berisha’s claims about equipment and surveillance
In his statement, Berisha claimed that criminal structures were being provided with tools bought with public funds, including recording, filming and surveillance equipment.
He also spoke about the search at Ilir Proda’s home, claiming that a “super-special sniper rifle” was found there. These are political accusations publicly articulated by the opposition leader and not evidence presented by investigative institutions at this stage.
Accusations of political orders from above
Berisha went further by claiming that matters linked to names mentioned by him, including Vlora Hyseni, were carried out on political orders from Prime Minister Edi Rama.
