Protest escalates at the Ministry of Education, door broken and objects thrown at the building

Students from several universities gathered outside the ministry

Students from the University of Medicine, UBT, the Polytechnic University, the Faculty of Law and other faculties gathered outside the Ministry of Education building. The gathering quickly took on a confrontational character, with a police presence also deployed opposite them.

According to reports from the ground, pyrotechnic devices and hard objects were thrown toward the building, turning the protest from a demonstration of pressure into a tense security situation.

Ministry door damaged, flames at the entrance

In the most intense developments of the protest, the entrance to the Ministry of Education was damaged. It is reported that the door was broken, while protesters lit a fire near the entrance.

The scenes outside the institution shed light on the escalation of the situation, while the response of the authorities has been limited to keeping police forces inside the building’s courtyard.

Tensions also at the Faculty of Natural Sciences

The clashes were not limited to the ministry. Tensions were also reported at the Faculty of Natural Sciences, where some protesters broke the main door and entered the faculty’s interior premises.

This development shows that the movement of students and young people has not remained merely symbolic, but has spread to several key points of university life in the capital.

High school students and universities in other cities join the response

High school students from the “Partizani” school also joined the protest, further broadening the profile of participation. In Elbasan, a class boycott has begun as a sign of solidarity with the students in Tirana.

Meanwhile, in Durrës, Shkodër, Vlorë and Gjirokastër, the teaching process is reported to be continuing normally, without situations similar to those in the capital and Elbasan.

The situation outside the Ministry of Education remains tense, with protests having crossed the line of a peaceful gathering and caused visible damage at the entrance of the institution.

Up to this moment, the picture emerging from the ground is that of an escalated student revolt, while institutional responsibility for managing the situation remains under public scrutiny.
