Arrest in England at Albania’s request

According to information presented at the extradition court in London, Arlind Cenga was arrested on the basis of an arrest warrant issued at the request of the Albanian authorities.

The case is being handled at City of Westminster Magistrates’ Court, where he is expected to appear again on October 19, 2026. At this stage, the procedure concerns the review of the request for his surrender to Albania.

What is alleged against the 30-year-old

The version presented in court is that, during the period from May 17, 2021 to June 30, 2021, the suspect obtained, without her knowledge, the password to the iCloud account of a woman with the initials Z.Q.

Further, according to the charge read in court, he is suspected of having engaged in a continuous course of harassing conduct through social networks, email and telephone, including by creating fake profiles.

Allegations of reputational harm and intimidation

According to the claims presented by the side representing the Albanian request, these actions damaged the reputation of the woman, identified as a business owner, and were also accompanied by insults and threats.

The English prosecutor representing the Albanian state classified these actions as part of the criminal offense of stalking, with consequences that, according to this version, caused the victim fear or serious distress and significantly affected her daily life.

Extradition process remains under review

At this stage, there is no ruling on guilt, only the continuation of extradition proceedings on British territory. The allegations raised against Cenga remain those presented by the requesting authorities and reported in court.

The next hearing, scheduled for October 19, 2026, is expected to clarify the next steps in this judicial process.

The case once again draws attention to how matters involving digital harassment and unauthorized access to personal accounts are increasingly ending up in cross-border proceedings, where the burden of proof and verification of allegations pass through several jurisdictions.

For now, what officially exists is the arrest in England for extradition purposes and the charge presented by the Albanian side before the British court.
