The tensions recorded in the capital have also affected private property. In the area behind the National Historical Museum, on Rruga e Durrësit, two businesses are reported to have been damaged, while the scene is described as serious, with broken glass, forced entry into premises and flames in the street.

What is being reported from the area
According to information from the scene, a group of protesters smashed the glass storefront of a business and entered its premises. Damage is also reported to have been caused to the inside of the venue during the entry.
In the same area, damage has also been reported to a second business, in another episode linked to the tensions recorded in central Tirana.
The fire extinguisher was taken from the business and thrown into the flames
According to information made public at the scene, the people who entered one of the businesses also took a fire extinguisher.
Instead of being used to put out the flames, the device was thrown among the materials burning in the street, an act that adds to the insecurity in an already heated situation with fires present in a public space.
Owners call for the damage to stop
The business owners have expressed concern over the damage and over the risk that misuse of a fire extinguisher could pose by people who, according to them, may not be aware of the consequences.
In an effort to avoid further damage, they tried to communicate with the protesters and asked them to respect private property.
The incident once again highlights that, beyond the clashes in the streets, the cost falls directly on the citizens and businesses located in the areas where violence erupts.
At this stage, the available information points to material damage and a tense situation on one of the capital’s busiest thoroughfares.
