A serious case has been reported in Selenicë, where seven students from the joint school “Hajredin Beqari” have filed a police complaint against their physical education teacher, alleging sexual harassment on school premises. According to the official version, the 35-year-old was escorted by Vlora Police and the case materials were forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office for further action.

The students’ complaint and police intervention
According to the published information, the students who filed the complaint are between 14 and 17 years old. They accuse the teacher of inappropriate behavior and sexual harassment inside the school.
After the complaint was filed, Vlora Police escorted the 35-year-old, Albano Ameti, who, according to the reported information, had joined the institution’s teaching staff around two months ago.
What students and parents said they heard
During questioning, some students said they had heard about the allegations made against the teacher. Some of them said they appeared at Vlora Police premises, where they were questioned by the investigative team about the circumstances of the case.
Parents of some of the students have also said they became aware of allegations of inappropriate behavior toward the girls, including harassment and physical touching. These remain allegations that are being verified by the investigative authorities.
Testimony about offensive language and suspected behavior
In the collected testimony, one student alleged that the teacher also harassed girls verbally, using the expression: “come here, sweetheart.” This allegation is part of the material now being handled by investigators.
The case once again raises questions about safety screening and the institutional response within schools, especially when it comes to reports involving minors in educational settings.
Investigation and referral to the Prosecutor’s Office
A colleague of the 35-year-old, teacher Dritan Gargaj, said he does not believe that he could have committed such acts. However, personal views do not change the weight of the filed complaints or the need for a full investigation.
According to police, the investigation is continuing to fully document the circumstances, while students and other people who may have knowledge of the case are being questioned. The procedural materials have been referred to the Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction in Vlora.
At this stage, the case remains under verification by the justice authorities, while the weight of the allegations and the involvement of minors make it particularly sensitive.
Beyond the preliminary versions, the real answer will be measured by how institutions document the facts and address the protection of the students.
