A clash involving several people in the “Uji i Ftohtë” area of Vlora escalated into physical violence, while police acknowledge they fired into the air during the intervention to stop one of those involved, who tried to flee on foot.

The incident was reported this afternoon in “Uji i Ftohtë,” an area with heavy movement, where a conflict between several people spiraled out of control and turned into a physical confrontation.
According to information published so far, one of the people involved is suspected of having had a sharp object, a knife, with him. The circumstances of the conflict have not yet been clarified.
Police used a firearm in the air during the intervention
According to the official version, after arriving at the scene, officers intervened to break up the conflict and neutralize those involved.
During this intervention, one of them ran away. At that moment, police say they fired a gun into the air as a measure to stop him.
The suspect was caught a few meters away
Although the warning shots did not stop him immediately, the person was arrested a few meters further on by officers.
Police also said that all the people involved in the conflict were escorted to the police station for further procedural actions.
