The meows that raised suspicions

According to Italian media, the young woman had begun to feel dizzy, but at first she did not understand the cause. At the same time, her cat was behaving differently than usual and meowing continuously, drawing her attention.

The animal’s unusual behavior proved crucial in understanding that there could be a serious air-related problem in the home.

Her condition worsened on the way to work

Despite her discomfort, the 29-year-old left home to go to work. But during the trip her symptoms did not go away and she was forced to stop her vehicle.

She then called emergency number 118. According to health authorities, the medical team suspected carbon monoxide poisoning and arranged for her transfer to Ca’ Foncello Hospital in Treviso.

Tests confirmed exposure to the gas

Examinations at the hospital confirmed, according to the official version, the presence of carbon monoxide poisoning. The 29-year-old’s condition required treatment in a hyperbaric chamber, a procedure used in such cases to reduce the effects of the gas on the body.

Her husband also went to the emergency department for checks, after the presence of the gas was also detected in the building’s stairwell. He, together with relatives living on the upper floor, later left the hospital.

The source of the danger was the boiler

The intervention of firefighters led to the identification of the cause of the leak. After checks inside the home, according to reports from Italy, it was discovered that the problem came from a faulty boiler.

The device was producing high concentrations of carbon monoxide, a colorless and odorless gas that can become a serious threat without being noticed until symptoms become severe.

The case in Treviso shows that carbon monoxide poisoning can develop silently, while the first signs are often mistaken for ordinary fatigue or dizziness.

In this episode, the alarm did not come from any warning device, but from the unusual reaction of a household pet, giving the incident a decisive turn.
