Police operation from Vlora to Saranda: 4 arrested, weapons, drugs and vehicles seized

Four people have been arrested in two separate operations in Vlora and Saranda, while police say they seized a firearm, ammunition, narcotic substances and two vehicles. According to the official version, the crackdown is linked to armed movement and the transport of drugs in the south of the country.

Arrest on Vlora’s Lungomare

In Vlora, police announced the conclusion of the code-named operation “Siguria,” in which E. O., 30, a resident of the city, was arrested in flagrante.

According to police, he was caught in the parking area of a bar in the Lungomare zone. During a body search, authorities say a pistol with 6 rounds of ammunition was found in his bag, along with a quantity of suspected narcotic substance.

In this case, police said they seized 2.18 grams of cocaine and 4.46 grams of cannabis sativa.

Operation in Saranda after a 3-week investigation

In Saranda, police announced another operation, code-named “Transportuesit,” which according to the authorities was carried out after a 3-week investigation using special methods.

Arrested were A. N., 31, a resident of Lukova, A. C., 18, a resident of Nivica, and K. J., 26, a resident of Saranda. For two of them, police also mentioned criminal records in the field of narcotics and illegal possession of weapons.

All three were caught on the Nivica-Saranda road, near the Kakome bridge, while traveling in two vehicles, according to the official statement.

5 kilograms of cannabis and suspicions of sale in Saranda and Ksamil

During a search of the vehicle driven by A. N., in which A. C. was also traveling, police say they found and seized 5 kilograms of suspected narcotic substance cannabis sativa.

According to the preliminary investigation, this quantity is suspected of having been transported to be sold in the Saranda and Ksamil area.

Also according to the police version, K. J. used the other vehicle to monitor the road and signal the presence of police services.

The case is referred to the Prosecutor’s Office

Authorities said investigations are continuing to fully document the suspected criminal activity and identify other people who may be involved.

The procedural materials have been referred to the Prosecutor’s Office for further action.

The two operations were presented by police as a blow against illegal possession of weapons and the trafficking of narcotic substances in the south, while full verification of roles and responsibilities now remains in the hands of investigators and the prosecution authority.
