According to information from the ground, the operation was intensified in the morning hours in an effort to curb the further spread of the flames.

Mallakastër fire spins out of control as flames expand perimeter in Lofkënd-Ngraçije

Flames continue to advance in the forest area

In the early morning hours, the intensity of the fire was reported to be lower, but that has not stopped the expansion of the fire’s perimeter. The situation shows that, despite efforts on the ground, the blaze remains active and at risk of spreading further.

The affected area is the Lofkënd-Ngraçije forest area, a zone where intervention requires continuous coordination because of the terrain and the extent of the flames.

Dozens of personnel and vehicles engaged in the operation

According to the official version, 30 troops from the Armed Forces, 10 officers from the Municipal Police, 15 employees of the Public Services Enterprise, five Fire Protection and Rescue Service personnel, and one fire engine have been deployed on the ground.

The reinforcement of the operation in the morning indicates that the authorities are trying to isolate the hotspot at a stage when the intensity of the flames is more manageable. However, the fact that the perimeter continues to expand suggests that the situation remains fragile.

Intervention also in the direction of Gjinoqare

In another part of the hotspot, in the direction of the Gjinoqare forest area, structures from the Patos Fire Protection and Rescue Service are operating. They have been deployed with two vehicles and 10 personnel.

This shows that the fire is not limited to just one point, but has required the distribution of forces in several directions, making the full isolation of the flames more difficult.

The toll remains unclear, fire still not isolated

At this stage, there has been no announcement that the hotspot has been fully isolated. The published information points to a drop in intensity in the morning, but not to the elimination of the danger.

In the absence of a more complete assessment of the affected area, the main concern remains the advance of the flames in the forest area and the real capacity of the structures to contain this hotspot in time.

The fire in Mallakastër remains active and its perimeter is expanding, while forces on the ground are working to isolate the flames.

So far, the situation remains under operational pressure, with no confirmation that it has been fully brought under control.
