What police say about the incident
According to police, the incident happened on July 24, 2026, at around 3:00 p.m., in the village of Shkallnur. During the conflict, the citizen identified by the initials E. Gj., 36, was struck with hard objects, specifically with the butt of a pistol.
The suspected perpetrators are citizens D. T., 41, who had previously been declared wanted, and G. M., 27, both residents of Shkallnur. After the clash, they left the scene by vehicle.
Spent casing at the scene and suspicions of gunfire
At the place where the conflict occurred, the investigative team seized a spent pistol casing as material evidence.
According to the official version, it is suspected that one shot was fired into the air during the conflict. At this stage, there is no public information about the weapon being used against the injured man, but the presence of the casing increases the seriousness of the incident beyond an ordinary fight.
A police officer also under investigation
Police say an off-duty police officer, Inspector L. Xh., is also suspected of having been involved in the conflict.
He was escorted in, and procedural actions are being carried out against him by the Police Oversight Agency. The involvement of an officer, even at the level of suspicion, places the incident under a different standard of verification, especially regarding the role he may have had in the clash.
Area cordoned off, suspects still at large
After the incident, numerous police forces cordoned off the area and set up checkpoints to capture the suspected perpetrators.
