The evacuation of residents has begun in Krujë’s “Abaze” neighborhood, after the fire that has engulfed the area moved closer to the most exposed parts near the mountain. According to the official version, the authorities’ priority remains removing people from endangered homes and limiting the consequences of the spread of the flames.
Residents are being taken out of their homes
Police forces have intervened in the area and have begun removing residents from homes in the “Abaze” neighborhood. The evacuation decision has been focused on the areas considered most exposed to the danger from the fire.
According to information reported from the scene, the process has been focused especially on homes located close to the mountain, where there is a risk of further spread of the flames.
The situation remains unstable
Authorities are continuing their intervention on the ground, while the situation remains dynamic. For the moment, the main concern remains the safety of residents and avoiding danger for families located near the fire zone.
Emergency teams and other services are also on the ground, engaged in dealing with the situation created in the area.
The confirmation also came through a video on social media
The start of the evacuation was also confirmed by former Democratic Party parliamentary candidate Aulon Kalaja through a video published on social media.
According to him, police were taking residents out of their homes and the evacuation order had been given for homes on the left side, near the mountain, in the “Abaze” neighborhood, because of the potential risk from the spread of the flames.
So far, the focus of the response remains the removal of residents from the endangered area, while the fire continues to keep part of Krujë under pressure.
It remains to be seen whether the intervention on the ground will manage to stop the spread of the flames toward other homes.
