Five citizens from Kosovo, staying at a hotel in the Lungomare area of Vlora, were injured after a fire engulfed the building overnight. Two of them are in serious condition, while the most critical condition is reported for a 25-year-old woman with burns on almost her entire body.
Two patients in serious condition at QSUT
According to information from QSUT, a 25-year-old woman is being treated in the Central Reanimation Unit after suffering burns to 90% of her body. Her condition is reported to be serious.
In the same ward is also a young man with around 30% burns on his body, whose condition, according to doctors, has also been worsened by the inhalation of smoke gases. Both patients are under continuous medical monitoring.
Another injured woman out of danger for her life
Another woman, also 25 years old, is receiving treatment in the Burns and Plastic Surgery Service. She has suffered approximately 30% second-degree burns on her body.
According to hospital sources, this patient is out of danger for her life.
Two injured people being treated at the Trauma Hospital
Two other people are receiving medical help at the University Trauma Hospital. They suffered multiple injuries while trying to leave the hotel when they noticed the flames and smoke.
So far, the official information made public has focused on the condition of the injured, while no full clarification has yet been given about the circumstances of the fire and the safety measures at the facility.
The incident at the hotel in Lungomare
The five injured people are citizens of Kosovo who had come on holiday to Vlora and were staying at the Brooklyn hotel in the Lungomare area.
According to the reported information, the hotel was engulfed by flames during Saturday night, in the hours before dawn on Sunday. There is still no full public version on the causes of the fire and any possible responsibilities.
The incident raises serious questions about safety standards in hotel structures at the peak of the tourist season, especially in one of the most frequented areas of the coast.
At this stage, attention remains focused on the condition of the injured and on clarifying the circumstances that led to such a serious toll.
