Teuta claimed an important win in the second week of the championship, beating Tirana 3-1 at “Niko Dovana” in a match that began with a power outage and ended with a clear comeback by the Durrës side. For the white-and-blues, the tally after two rounds is alarming: two defeats and zero points.

Darkness at the start, then Tirana take the lead

The match opened with an unusual episode, as the stadium lost electrical power in the opening minutes and play was temporarily suspended. While waiting for the lights to return, flares were lit in the stands by the “Djemtë e Detit” supporters’ group, creating an intense atmosphere in the stadium.

After the lights came back on, Tirana struck first. In the 11th minute, the white-and-blues won a penalty and Kish was accurate from the spot to put the visitors ahead 0-1.

Teuta change their face after the break

The second half brought a different rhythm for the home side, who responded much better and pushed the game forward. The equaliser came in the 66th minute, when Zhongo scored with a header from a corner.

The 1-1 goal fully opened the way for the comeback, while Tirana were no longer able to keep control of the result.

Boçi and Umeijego seal the comeback

Teuta’s pressure paid off in the 79th minute. Boçi received the ball on the left, beat an opponent and with a precise finish beat Bekaj for 2-1.

Only five minutes later came the decisive blow. Umeijego headed home from a cross into the area, closing out the match at 3-1 for the Durrës side.

First win for Tetova, alarm bells for the white-and-blues

For Edlir Tetova, this was his first win on the Teuta bench. After the first two rounds, the Durrës side move up to four points and gain some breathing room at the start of the season.

On the other side, Tirana leave this away trip with another setback. Two straight defeats and no points in the standings is a start that immediately puts the white-and-blue side under pressure.

Teuta made better use of the key moments of the match and turned an early deficit into a convincing victory. Tirana, by contrast, leave Durrës with another clear sign that the start of the season is slipping in the wrong direction.
