After the boycott reported earlier in Tirana, dissatisfaction over unpaid salaries has also spread to the courts of Lushnjë, Fier and Vlorë. Administrative staff are reacting to a situation that, according to them, is delaying monthly payments and directly affecting the functioning of court services.
Lushnjë: Two-hour boycott by administration staff
Around 35 administrative employees of the First Instance Administrative Court in Lushnjë boycotted work for nearly two hours.
The employees are demanding payment of this month’s salary, which should have been received on September 3. According to their claim, the delay is linked to the process of reviewing salary increases for judges, which they say has also blocked payments for the administration.
Although today’s protest was brief, employees have warned that they will repeat the boycott in the coming days until the salaries are paid.
In Fier, an open-ended protest is being warned
Dissatisfaction has also surfaced in Fier, where the administration has held a protest.
According to reports from the ground, employees have warned that the response may continue indefinitely until their demands are met. This further increases pressure on the institutions responsible for the payment delays.
Boycott also in Vlorë, counters and services restricted
On Wednesday, a boycott was also recorded at the First Instance Court in Vlorë, where the court secretariat and judicial administration stopped work, according to the version reported by sources on the ground.
As a result, there will be restricted counter service hours. From 15:45 to 16:00, service will be provided only for emergencies.
Also, according to the same information, only court hearings on security measures will be held. At this court, the administration has 61 employees, not including judges.
A salary problem turning into an institutional blockage
The spread of the boycott to several cities within the same day raises serious questions about the management of payments in the judicial system and how a process linked to the review of judges’ salaries is affecting the administration.
So far, the employees’ response has translated into restricted services and warnings of further protests, while citizens face the consequences of a deadlock that institutions have still not publicly resolved.
The administration in these courts is demanding the overdue payments and an immediate solution to the situation.
Beyond any official justifications that may be given for procedures, the fact remains the same: when salaries are delayed, the consequences do not remain only with employees, but also affect services to citizens.
