Prime Minister Edi Rama has publicly sided with Saudi Arabia after the attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, a reaction that clearly places Tirana on the political line of support for the Saudi Kingdom in this tense regional episode.

Rama’s reaction after the Riyadh attack
In a post on social network X, Rama condemned Houthi attacks against Saudi Arabia, including the deadly attack on Riyadh airport.
The head of government expressed condolences to the families of the victims and wished a speedy recovery to the injured, while declaring that Albania stands firmly with Saudi Arabia and its people.
Direct accusations over attacks on civilians
In his reaction, Rama stressed that there can be no justification for attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure.
According to the statement he published, such acts threaten regional peace and the security of vital international transport corridors.
The political language used by the head of government
Rama did not stop at condemning the attack, but also articulated strong political accusations against the Houthis and, according to his version, their sponsors in Tehran.
He called for those responsible to be held accountable and for the international community to speak with one voice for the immediate halt of these attacks.
The prime minister’s reaction places Albania in an openly diplomatic position in favor of Saudi Arabia, on an issue that affects not only regional security, but also the broader lines of international alliances and positioning.
So far, the public reaction from Tirana has come through Rama’s statement on X, where the main emphasis remains the condemnation of the attack and political support for Riyadh.
