Another morning, the same scene outside the Prime Minister’s Office. Edi Rama has publicly repeated his call for dialogue with protesting students, this time again setting up the “Stone Table” and accompanying the image with a short message on social media.

Rama renews call for dialogue with students at the Stone Table outside the Prime Minister’s Office

The symbolism placed in front of the government building

Opposite the Prime Minister’s Office, the stone table that Rama has used as a symbol of his invitation to talks with students has appeared once again.

Several sheets of paper bearing the word “Dialog” were placed on the table, while the prime minister’s post was limited to the word “Good morning,” in a move that appears more like a political message carefully staged for the public than a tangible change in relation to the protesters’ demands.

The government’s position remains the same

According to the government’s version, the prime minister has consistently expressed willingness to hear students’ concerns and discuss their demands, even when the sides hold opposing positions.

However, at this stage there is no sign that the repeated invitations have produced any real rapprochement between the sides or a format acceptable to the protesters.

The students have not accepted the invitation

The students’ rejection of the dialogue proposed by Rama has remained unchanged. The protesters have insisted on their demands and have not agreed to sit at the table under the conditions set by the government.

Among the demands they have articulated is the prime minister’s resignation, which makes the political clash even deeper and shifts the debate beyond the symbolic language of posts and staging outside the Prime Minister’s Office.

Public message, but no sign of a solution

The repetition of the same call shows that the government is insisting on the form of public dialogue as a communication tool, while the students remain focused on protest pressure and distrust of the official offer.

In the absence of a concrete change in approach, the “Stone Table” remains more of a political image than proof that the sides have moved closer to a solution.

The standoff between the government and the students remains frozen, with repeated invitations from one side and open refusal from the other.

So far, symbolic messages have not been enough to break the deadlock.
