Four fire hotspots remain active across the country, while the most problematic is reported on Mount Dajti, where according to the official version reactivations and a spread of the flames have been identified. In this situation, Defense Minister Ermal Nufi has called for coordination among all local and central structures, as pressure once again falls on how the terrain is being managed.
Dajti remains the most critical point
According to data made public by state structures, there are 12 fire hotspots across the country, of which four remain active. The most difficult situation is on Mount Dajti in Tirana, where reactivations and an expansion of the hotspots are being reported.
Beyond the official announcement, the fact that the flames are reactivating in one of the most sensitive areas near the capital raises questions about the effectiveness of control on the ground and the ability to fully isolate the endangered areas.
The minister calls for coordination among structures
The call for coordination was made by the minister during a visit to the National Operational Center of Civil Emergencies, part of the National Civil Protection Agency. His message was that local and central structures should act in a unified manner to cope with the situation.
The statement comes at a time when several areas of the country continue to face active fires, turning institutional coordination from a standard formula into a real test of the state response.
What the authorities claim about monitoring
According to the minister’s statement, the entire fire management process is monitored, supervised and coordinated from the National Operational Center, along with floods and other natural disasters across the territory of Albania.
He also said that work at the center continues without interruption, 24 hours a day, with monitoring of the territory county by county and municipality by municipality in order to identify the most problematic areas. This is the official version of how the system operates, while developments on the ground remain the main indicator of the outcome.
Several other counties also remain under pressure
In addition to Dajti, a difficult situation is also reported in Vajkal in Bulqiza, in several areas of Dibra, as well as in Komsi, Mount Dardha and Mount Quka.
The spread of the hotspots across several counties at the same time shows that the pressure on emergency structures is not limited to Tirana alone. In the absence of more operational data, it remains unclear how sustainable control of the situation is in each of these areas.
With four hotspots still active and Dajti at the center of concern, the balance so far shows that the challenge is not only extinguishing the flames, but also testing the real institutional capacity to respond in time and effectively on the ground.
