Six fire hotspots remain active in several counties across the country, while the main weight of the operation has shifted to Dibër. According to the official version from the Ministry of Defense, more than 220 personnel, firefighting vehicles and one helicopter have been deployed on the ground, while authorities insist that so far there is no reported risk to residential areas.
Active hotspots concentrated in three counties
According to the update published on August 30, 2026, at 14:00, 11 fire hotspots were reported in the country, of which 6 remain active and 3 others are under monitoring.
The active hotspots have been identified in Dajt in Tirana, in Vajkal, Sllatinë, Lundre and Ballenjë in Dibër County, as well as in Rrilë in Lezhë. Institutions report that, in these areas, there is currently no risk to homes, but the situation remains closely tied to the terrain and wind conditions.
Dibër bears the main burden of the operation
The most problematic situation is in Dibër, where the deployment of forces is also significantly higher. In Sllatinë, 91 personnel are operating, while in Vajkal 38 firefighting personnel and 30 members of the Armed Forces have been engaged.
In Lundre of Mat, according to authorities, the rapid spread of the flames in the forest massif has been favored by the wind, which has also led to the involvement of an Air Force helicopter in the operation. In Ballenjë of Martanesh, the intervention is made even more difficult because the fire is in a protected area and on rugged terrain.
More than 220 personnel on the ground, but fires remain active
The Ministry of Defense says that, in total, 173 operational personnel, 50 military personnel, 16 firefighting vehicles and one Air Force helicopter have been engaged. This mobilization brings the number of personnel involved to more than 220 on the ground.
However, despite this deployment, several hotspots remain active, an indication that the operation has not been concluded and that full control of the flames remains unsteady in some problematic points.
Under monitoring: Qafë e Helmes, Mount Dardha and Mount Qukës
According to the official notice, the hotspots at Qafë e Helmes, Mount Dardha and Mount Qukës are being kept under monitoring. The National Civil Protection Agency said it is following the situation in coordination with the prefectures, municipalities and other civil protection structures.
The priority declared by the institutions remains the protection of life, homes and citizens’ property, while the real test remains effectiveness on the ground against hotspots that have still not been fully neutralized.
The balance so far shows a situation that remains open, with Dibër at the center of operational attention and several fire fronts continuing to require intervention.
For the moment, authorities are not reporting a risk to residential areas, but the dynamics of fires in forest terrain make any premature sense of security fragile.
