Sunday is expected to bring unstable weather across the country, with rainfall starting in the early hours and more problematic episodes in certain areas. According to the official forecast, the southwest and northwest are also expected to see short-lived thunderstorms, accompanied by lightning and, locally, hail.

Rain across most of the territory
The forecast for Sunday points to unstable atmospheric conditions across the country. Rainfall is expected to be intermittent, with light to moderate intensity across most of the territory, starting from the early hours of the day.
This means the day is not expected to be stable, especially in areas where rainfall could create temporary difficulties for movement and outdoor activities.
Northwest and southwest at higher risk
According to the official version of the forecast, the southwestern and northwestern areas are expected to receive rainfall of moderate and locally high intensity. It is precisely in these counties that short-lived thunderstorms are forecast, accompanied by lightning and in some cases hail.
During the day, rainfall will remain present at low levels, but in these two areas it may periodically reactivate up to moderate intensity.
Fog and reduced visibility during rainfall
At times when it rains, dense local fog or mist is also forecast. This may affect visibility on road routes, especially in areas where rainfall and humidity will be more present.
In such conditions, travel requires greater caution, especially on winding stretches, in hilly areas and near the coast.
Stronger wind along the coast, in valleys and mountainous areas
Wind is expected to blow from the southeast-east, with an average speed of around 5 m/s. However, along the coastline, in valley areas and mountainous zones, speeds may reach up to 16 m/s.
At sea, wave heights of force 3 to 4 are forecast, making conditions more unstable for marine traffic as well, especially during the windiest hours.
Overall, Sunday is expected to bring unsettled weather across most of Albania, while the northwest and southwest remain the areas where the highest intensity of atmospheric phenomena is expected.
Beyond the standard wording of the forecast, the main signal for citizens is clear: rainfall will be scattered, but not the same everywhere, and in some areas it may be accompanied by short but stronger episodes.
