The government’s initiative to create the “Pasqyra Albania” portal has prompted an immediate reaction from the opposition. Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha attacked the project as yet another costly scheme, raising questions about the use of public money and the real impact it could have on citizens.
Berisha’s reaction after the portal’s presentation
In a Facebook post, Berisha reacted after Prime Minister Edi Rama presented “Pasqyra Albania,” a portal that, according to the official version, aims to give citizens the opportunity to track their complaints and requests.
The PD leader described the initiative as an abusive project and claimed that behind it lies a heavy financial bill for the public budget.
Accusations of high cost and questionable impact
According to Berisha, “Pasqyra Albania” is not a real solution for communication between citizens and the administration, but another mechanism that will cost millions of dollars.
He presents the portal not as a service bridge, but as a new intermediary structure that, he says, risks distancing citizens even further from the concrete resolution of problems in the administration.

In his reaction, Berisha said that “Pasqyra Albania” is “a new wall between the citizen and the administration.”
Along the same lines, he claimed that the portal will serve citizens just as much as other initiatives that the opposition has previously considered propagandistic and without real results.
Political clash over a new digital project
The debate over “Pasqyra Albania” is opening from the very moment of its public presentation, with the government selling it as a communication tool and the opposition reading it as yet another financially inflated project.
At this stage, the opposition made public by Berisha remains political and framed through direct accusations against the government, while the project itself still leaves its cost, method of operation and concrete usefulness for citizens to be seen.
The clash over “Pasqyra Albania” brings back to the center an old question for every new state platform: how much it truly serves the public and how much it is used as a justification for new spending of public money?
In the absence of more data on cost and implementation, the political accusations and the official promise remain set against each other, while the burden of transparency falls on the government.
