Vlora Port handled a heavy volume of यात्रellers and vehicles this weekend on the route to Italy, in another seasonal test of outbound processing capacity. According to official figures, around 8,000 passengers and 2,300 vehicles departed on three ferries on the Vlora-Brindisi route.
Increased outbound traffic from the port
Most of the travelers were Albanian emigrants who live and work in Italy. Alongside them, Italian tourists also left from the port, further increasing the weekend traffic.
The outbound flow toward Italy comes at a time when ports regularly face added pressure due to the return of emigrants and the seasonal movement of tourists.
Official version: processing without problems and without delays
According to the authorities, the traffic was manageable and document processing was carried out without problems. According to the official version, no delays were recorded by the Border Police in the departure of the ferries according to the planned schedules.
These claims present a calm picture of the situation, although high-traffic weekends usually test the pace of processing and the capacity of services at ports.
How many counters were put into operation
To handle the high number of passengers and vehicles, nine counters were in operation in the vehicle lane. At the terminal, according to official data, another five were also operating.
The aim, according to the responsible structures, was to speed up procedures and avoid long queues during a weekend with a high volume of traffic.
A return to the normal pace is expected
From Monday, the situation at Vlora Port is expected to return to its normal working rhythm, after the significant increase in traffic during the weekend.
Meanwhile, the Border Police remain engaged in managing travelers departing for Italy, on a sea route that remains one of the busiest during the season.
The figures from this weekend once again show the importance of the Vlora-Brindisi route during the season, especially for Albanian emigrants returning to Italy with their vehicles.
Beyond the official statements of a problem-free process, such traffic flows remain a concrete test of port organization and the real capacity of the structures on the ground.
