Flames still not fully contained

Several groups of firefighters are working in the area, with the main aim of slowing the spread of the fire and keeping it isolated. However, the situation on the ground remains problematic and the fire is still not reported to be under control.

The account given by teams on the ground shows that natural conditions are working against the operation, turning the intervention into a difficult confrontation with the terrain and the wind.

Firefighters: dense forest makes direct intervention difficult

One of the firefighters involved in the operation explained that the teams have replaced other groups that had been on standby and on duty for 24 hours, indicating the duration and strain of the situation on the ground.

According to him, the operation includes two groups from their station, as well as five other stations from the Tirana Directorate. He stressed that the situation is complicated because of the heavy density of the forest, while the wind is helping the flames.

Focus remains on slowing the spread

The teams’ priority is to prevent the fire from expanding further, especially in areas where the terrain and dense vegetation make rapid and direct intervention almost impossible.

Authorities on the ground are monitoring the situation, while the operation is being supported by several fire stations. So far, the main weight of the response appears to remain on isolating the fire, rather than extinguishing it immediately.

In the absence of full control over the flames, the fire in Priska e Madhe remains an active emergency that is testing on-the-ground response capacities.

What is clear so far is that conditions in the area are dictating the pace of the operation, while teams are trying to prevent the fire from spreading further.
