A daytime assassination near Caesarea in Israel has claimed the life of Yanis Yushbaev, a man long identified by authorities with the criminal underworld. Security camera footage published by local media shows the moment he is approached by a person and shot in the head from very close range.

The attack at a gas station
The incident took place at a gas station near the city of Caesarea. According to reports, Yushbaev was shot with a firearm in broad daylight, in an attack bearing the hallmarks of a direct execution.
Security camera footage shows the assailant approaching the victim and opening fire at close range, striking him in the back of the head. The full circumstances of the assailant’s movements and how he fled have not been disclosed.
Emergency response and death in hospital
The Magen David Adom emergency service said the alert about the incident was received at 15:51. Teams that arrived at the scene found a man about 45 years old unconscious, with no pulse and not breathing, with severe penetrating wounds to the body.
According to MDA, he was given first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation during transport to Hillel Yaffe Medical Center. He was taken there in critical condition, but was later pronounced dead.
A figure well known to police
Yushbaev, a resident of Or Akiva, was considered by police to be one of the most prominent and dangerous intelligence targets in the Hadera area and in the Coastal District.
According to Israeli authorities, he had been arrested several times in recent years on suspicion of involvement in serious criminal incidents, including grenade attacks on homes and businesses, shootings at private houses, and the burning of dozens of vehicles.
Investigation open, but few answers
Israeli police said the investigation has been opened by the Hadera station, while evidence is being collected and suspects are being sought. Israel Police Commissioner Dani Levy also arrived at the scene.
For now, the official version treats the case as a criminal incident in its initial stage. This means that, despite the victim’s high profile and the clarity of the footage, authorities have still not provided public explanations about the perpetrator, the motive, or the chain of responsibility.
The killing of Yushbaev adds another serious episode to the chronicle of organized crime in Israel, this time in a public setting and in front of cameras.
So far, there has been no announcement of arrests or official identification of the perpetrator.
