A fire that broke out on Monday evening in Lalzi Bay has raised alarm in one of the most frequented tourist areas, as the flames are being pushed by the wind toward the pine belt and hotels. Firefighting services have arrived on the ground, while the situation appears complicated due to the rapid spread of the fire.
The flames are advancing toward the hotel area
According to information reported from the scene, the fire appeared in the evening in the Lalzi Bay area and is moving quickly toward the section where the pine trees and hotel structures are located.
The danger has been increased by the wind, which is aiding the spread of the flames in an area that during this period sees heavy movement of holidaymakers and tourist activity.
Firefighters and support forces on the ground
Firefighting services have arrived at the scene, while vehicles and personnel from Tirana, Kamza, Shijak and Kavaja have also been sent to assist the Durrës structures.
AKMC has also been involved in the operation, indicating that the situation has been assessed as problematic and requires an expanded intervention to prevent the further spread of the fire.
Alarm for tourists in the area
MP Manjola Luku is also at the scene and has stated that many tourists are staying in the hotels in the area and that the wind is directly affecting the spread of the fire.
