After returning from Luxembourg, where the 10th intergovernmental conference between Albania and the EU is being held, Edi Rama is expected to convene the Socialist Party parliamentary group and ministers at the Palace of Brigades. According to the reported agenda, the meeting will focus on a report on the progress of “Prania Besnike,” while political conclusions from the prime minister and the head of the parliamentary group, Taulant Balla, are expected at the end.

What is expected to be discussed at the meeting

According to information made public about the meeting agenda, two points stand out as the main axis of the expanded meeting between the Socialist Party group and ministers.

The main point is linked to reporting on the progress of “Prania Besnike,” wording that appears in the official version of the agenda and is expected to take up most of the discussion. Lawmakers, according to the same plan, will be given two minutes each for questions or comments.

The final word remains with Rama and Balla

At the end of the meeting, the conclusions and political instructions are expected to be delivered by Edi Rama and Taulant Balla.

This format makes the meeting more of a top-down guidance session than an open debate, at least judging by the way the agenda has been structured. The limited space for lawmakers suggests a controlled session, with timed interventions and centralized messaging.

Why the meeting is being held on Wednesday

This week’s meeting follows similar meetings in the Socialist Party group-plus-ministers format, which are usually held on the last Saturday of each month.

This time, according to the explanation given, the change of day is linked to the fact that the last weekend of September was dominated by the discussion and then the vote in parliament on the new territorial map. For this reason, Wednesday has been chosen to continue the same format.

Political meeting at a busy moment

The meeting is expected to be held immediately after Rama’s return from Luxembourg, giving it added political weight domestically.

Although it is presented as a routine coordination meeting between the majority and the government, the reported agenda shows that the focus remains on the Socialist Party’s internal organization and on the political line that will be conveyed by its leadership.

So far, no other details have been made public about additional issues on the agenda.

At the center of the meeting, according to the reported version of the agenda, remains the report on “Prania Besnike” and the political direction to be given by the top leadership of the majority.
