Tensions at the Prime Minister’s Office: Protesters fire slingshots and place banner at the table of dialogue

The protest moves toward the Prime Minister’s Office

After their earlier gathering at the Ministry of Education, the protesters moved toward the Prime Minister’s Office, shifting the political confrontation to the entrance of the central government institution.

This move has turned the area in front of the building into the main flashpoint, in another protest where the message to the executive has become more direct.

Slingshot fire toward the building reported

According to footage and information published from the scene, some protesters fired slingshots in the direction of the Prime Minister’s Office building.

There is still no further official clarification on the consequences of this action or whether there was any concrete intervention by security structures at the moment of tension.

Banner at the stone table of dialogue

Near the stone table of dialogue, publicly associated with Prime Minister Edi Rama, other protesters placed a banner with a harsh political message.

The banner reads: “Your end is coming. Down with the dictatorship! Long live Albania!”

Political message and symbolism in front of the government

Placing the banner at one of the most symbolic points in the courtyard of the Prime Minister’s Office adds to the political weight of the protest, turning the action into an open challenge to narratives of dialogue.

What can be seen on the ground is a worsening of the protest climate in relation to institutions, at a moment when little has been made public about how the situation is being managed by the authorities.

The protest has thus moved from marching and gathering to stronger gestures in front of the seat of government.

It remains to be seen whether the institutions will provide a full account of the episodes recorded near the Prime Minister’s Office.
