But despite the opposition’s request, the session was not convened by chair Avni Dehari, further deepening the institutional deadlock.

Kosovo Assembly deadlock: PDK and Alliance demand continuation of the constitutive session

The opposition appeared in the chamber, but the session did not begin

PDK and the Alliance arrived in the plenary chamber requesting that the constitutive session of the Kosovo Assembly continue.

However, according to reported developments, session chair Avni Dehari did not call for its continuation, even though the opposition parties had requested it.

The request had been submitted earlier in writing

The opposition parties had submitted a written request a day earlier for the constitutive session to continue today at 11:00.

The failure to act in calling the session is being read by the opposition as another sign of political obstruction, at a time when the Assembly remains unconstituted.

Hamza accuses them of violating the constitutional deadline

PDK leader Bedri Hamza told opposition lawmakers that, in his view, Albin Kurti, Albulena Haxhiu and Avni Dehari have violated the constitutional deadline.

In his position, Hamza claimed that this was an overrun of a deadline set by the Constitutional Court and not a political claim by the opposition. According to him, the situation has moved from a political crisis to a constitutional crisis.

Public call to Vetëvendosje

During his remarks in the chamber, Hamza called on Vetëvendosje to take part in constituting the Assembly.

The opposition’s message was direct: the Assembly must be constituted and the deadlock cannot be treated as institutional normality.

The deadlock in the Kosovo Assembly remains unresolved, while the sides continue to interpret differently who bears responsibility for the session not continuing.

For now, the fact remains that the opposition’s request for the continuation of the constitutive session was not followed by an official call for a meeting.
