The 48th day of the protest on the “Dëshmorët e Kombit” boulevard was marked by a police intervention near the government building, while at the end of the gathering the organizers escalated their message with another call: a protest outside Parliament during the July 23 session.

Police intervention near the prime minister’s vehicle
According to the version reported by the organizers and footage from the scene, a citizen tried to approach the car of Prime Minister Edi Rama, which was in front of the government building.
Police intervened immediately and escorted the protester to Police Station No. 1. The source material gives no further details on the official reason for the escort or whether any further procedure was taken against him.
Gathering has continued for 48 days on the boulevard
Protesters gathered again on the “Dëshmorët e Kombit” boulevard, in a rally that has now stretched to 48 days.
After the moment of tension near the government building, participants continued with the planned activity and carried out their next march through the streets of the capital.
The warning for July 23
Another political announcement was also made from the square by the organizers: a protest outside Parliament during the final session of this parliamentary term, scheduled for July 23.
According to them, this date is seen as a moment of confrontation with lawmakers, as the protest shifts its focus from the boulevard toward the institutions where political decisions are made.
Meeting of the “Citizens’ National Assembly” also announced
The organizers also announced that on Saturday they will hold the first meeting of what they call the “Citizens’ National Assembly.”
They called on citizens to apply for participation through the form they have published, with the aim of being included in this meeting.
Beyond the announcements from the protest, it remains to be seen whether police will provide an official explanation for escorting the citizen near the prime minister’s vehicle.
Meanwhile, attention is turning to July 23, when organizers aim to bring street pressure in front of Parliament.
