383 personnel on the ground and helicopter support

The ministry says 383 operational personnel and 24 fire engines have been deployed in operations to tackle the flames. According to the same statement, assistance has also included 90 members of the Armed Forces, 1 fire engine and 4 Air Force helicopters.

The figures show broad engagement on the ground; however, the situation remains open in several counties, keeping the focus not only on the emergency response but also on the real effectiveness of risk management in difficult areas.

Gojan-Gjegjan, the day’s most critical point

The fire in Gojan-Gjegjan in Puka appears to be the most problematic. According to the authorities, rugged terrain and strong winds have made intervention difficult, while priority has been given to protecting homes.

Residents have also been evacuated from this area. The operation has been supported by ground and air forces, including 40 members of the Armed Forces and 3 helicopters.

Intervention in Kurbin and reactivation on Mount Dajti

In Mal Milot in Kurbin, the intervention is continuing with 3 fire engines, 1 water tanker, 20 members of the Armed Forces and 2 helicopters. According to the official report, the risk to homes has been eliminated, while work continues to bring the fire fully under control.

On Mount Dajti, the situation has become more complicated following a reactivation of the fire. The operation is continuing with ground forces and 1 Armed Forces helicopter, while authorities say there is no risk to inhabited areas.

Bulqiza and Memaliaj, focus on protecting homes

In Gjon village in Bulqiza, the blaze remains active. There, 5 firefighters, 22 volunteers and 4 municipal personnel are operating, with the main focus on protecting homes near the affected area.

In Ballaxhiaj in Memaliaj, according to authorities, the fire has been brought under control and is located far from homes. Firefighting vehicles, police forces and volunteers have been engaged in the operation.

Several blazes under control, monitoring continues

The situation appears more stable in Qafë Helmes, where the fire has been extinguished from the Bulqiza side and isolated from the Selishtë side. Likewise, in Lufaj in Mirdita, the blaze has been brought under control.

For both of these areas, it is reported that there is no risk to homes and that monitoring is continuing. Meanwhile, the National Civil Emergencies Agency is maintaining coordination of the situation at the national level, in cooperation with central and local Civil Protection structures.

The overall picture remains mixed: some blazes have been contained, but several others continue to test response capacity on the ground.

The key points remain Gojan and Mount Dajti, where developments depend not only on the forces engaged but also on terrain conditions and the wind.
