Prime Minister Edi Rama is expected to hold a meeting today at 11:00 with the MPs and political delegates of Tirana County, in another meeting focused on the Socialist Party’s organization on the ground. According to the announced agenda, the implementation of the “Besa” document and the concept called “Faithful Presence” will be on the table, terms that socialist leaders are using as part of political mobilization at the grassroots level.

The next meeting for Tirana County
Today’s meeting comes after a gathering held a day earlier at one of the government villas in the capital, where Rama brought together the political leaders of the counties and ministers.
The fact that the meetings are being held in succession and with a clear focus on organization on the ground shows that the majority’s attention has shifted back to the political structure and the management of contact with the electorate.
What is being asked of the political leaders
According to the official version, at yesterday’s meeting Rama asked the political leaders to be more present in their electoral areas.
The request also extends to coordination with SP structures, MPs and mayors, in order to build an agenda of meetings with citizens and identify concerns at both the individual and community level.
Political message behind the formula of “listening on the ground”
The rhetoric of “going out on the ground” and “identifying concerns” is often used by the majority as part of its political communication with the public, especially at moments when it seeks to tighten ranks and increase control over local structures.
In this context, today’s meeting with Tirana County is seen not only as organizational coordination, but also as a test of political discipline within the SP in the capital.
For the moment, no further details have been made public about any concrete decisions from today’s meeting.
What is known is that the declared focus remains a more frequent presence of socialist representatives on the ground and the building of an agenda of meetings with citizens.
