How the bank robbery happened

According to information reported from the scene, the suspect entered the bank premises masked and threatened the cashier with a weapon, forcing her to hand over an amount of money.

He then also pointed the weapon at the guard by the door, in order to keep him blocked and avoid any immediate reaction during his escape.

Escape on an electric scooter

After leaving the bank, the suspect is believed to have got onto an electric scooter and headed toward Dinamo Stadium, a detail that again raises questions about the speed of the response and the actual level of control on the ground after such an incident.

Leaving in this way makes the episode even more unusual, while so far there is no public information on whether the suspect was clearly captured by security cameras or whether the full escape route has been identified.

What police say

Police said that at around 10:45 a masked citizen entered a second-tier bank and, under the threat of an object resembling a weapon, is suspected of taking an amount of money.

According to the official version, immediately after the report, checkpoints were set up and police services were directed toward identifying and capturing the suspect. However, no detention or arrest has been reported at this stage.

Investigation and questions

The investigative group, according to police, is working to identify the suspect and fully document the case.

The incident brings attention back to security at second-tier banks and the effectiveness of preventive measures, especially in a populated area of Tirana, where an armed suspect managed to enter, take money and leave without being caught at the scene.

So far there is no official information on the amount taken or on the identity of the suspected person.

The investigation remains open, while many key details of the incident have still not been made public.
