Students took to the streets again in protest, this time starting the movement from university lecture halls and ending in front of the Prime Minister’s Office. The action spread across several faculties in Tirana, where there were direct calls for a boycott of classes and for students to join the protest.

Students return to protest: enter lecture halls and march again toward the Prime Minister’s Office

Starting from the universities

The day’s protest initially unfolded at the doors and inside the halls of universities, turning the boycott into direct pressure on academic life.

Students from the Polytechnic gathered and first marched toward the Faculty of History and Philology, where they entered the interior premises with calls for a boycott of classes.

Calls room by room to join the protest

According to reports from the scene, the protesters moved through every classroom, entering while lessons were taking place and asking students to join them.

The same model was followed at the Faculty of Economics and the Faculty of Foreign Languages. The group then also headed to the Faculty of Law.

Not all universities joined

While the protest spread across several faculties, not the entire university system reacted in the same way.

It is reported that at the University of Medicine, classes were held as normal, showing that the call for a boycott was not reflected equally across all institutions.

From lecture halls to the government building

After marching through the faculties, the protesters first returned to the University of Medicine.

They then headed toward the Prime Minister’s Office, where they positioned themselves again, shifting the focus of the protest from the lecture halls to the country’s political decision-making center.

The student movement is once again appearing with the same logic of pressure: mobilization in universities and a presence in front of the government.

It remains to be seen whether this form of organization will broaden participation or remain limited to only several faculties in Tirana.
