At the Şükrü Saracoğlu, Fenerbahçe and Roma played out a 1-1 draw in a match with pace and chances at both ends.
The Italian side went ahead first through Bryan Cristante in the first half, but the hosts responded immediately after the break.
Archie Brown restores parity
Fenerbahçe’s equaliser was scored by Archie Brown in the 48th minute, restoring balance to the contest.
In the remainder of the match, both teams pushed for more, but neither found the goal that would have delivered all three points.
PSV-Shakhtar also ends level
The other match of the evening between PSV Eindhoven and Shakhtar Donetsk also ended without a winner, finishing 1-1.
Shakhtar took the lead late in the first half through a goal from Gleiker Mendoza, while PSV responded later in the second half.
PSV pushed for more, but took only a point
Sergiño Dest equalised for the Dutch side, keeping the match open until the end.
PSV tried to find a winning goal in the remaining minutes, but Shakhtar’s defence held firm and the Ukrainian side left the away trip with a point.
